David Hill has been Patron of CREATE Foundation since CREATE was founded in 1993 and also served as Chairman of the Board. In both these roles David has been active in his support of CREATE and our work.
His strong interest in the rights and welfare of children and young people in care stems from his experience as a child. When he was 13 he and his two brothers were sent from Britain to Fairbridge Farm School through the Child Migrant Scheme. He has since written a book about the brutal experiences of the pupils there The Forgotten Children.
In addition to his advocacy work for children in care and social justice issues; his career has spanned being chairman then managing director of the ABC, chairman of the Australian Football Association, chief executive and director of the State Rail Authority NSW and chairman of Sydney Water Corporation.
