What is a Bequest?

A bequest is a gift made through a will.  A bequest can be in the form of a dollar amount, property, shares, a percentage of your estate or a portion of what remains of your estate once you have provided for your family.

Leave your legacy to give kids in care a better life

A guide to the wording for your will is laid out below:

“I give and bequeath the residue of my estate _____% of the residue of my estate/the sum of $_____ / _____ specified items to the CREATE Foundation, Level 6, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney 2000 for its general purposes, free of all death and estate duties. I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or other authorized officer of the CREATE Foundation shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors.”

NOTE:  The wording above should only be used as a guide for you and your solicitor.  The wording may change dependent upon the type of bequest you wish to make to CREATE.
