Position : State Coordinator
About Lisa :
I have been with CREATE for over three and a half years now and I still love it. I feel really heartened that I have seen positive changes occur within the Out of Home Care System – changes that will make a difference to the lives of Children and Young People in Care, especially in the ACT.

CREATE Your Future Program is poised and ready to TAKE OFF! Kathryn has been visiting Young People and agencies all across the ACT, talking to everyone about this program and the feedback has been great. We have taken a good number of referrals and they are all very excited to get started on this exciting journey.
The CREATE ACT office is looking shiny and new with some new furniture purchased from our successful Community Support and Infrastructure Grants Program, through the ACT Government and the ACT Department of Disability, Housing & Community Services. We have just had some painting done, which looks fantastically funky – thanks to Warren Sturgiss (formerly Project Officer CREATE Your Future) and his big brother – Graham Sturgiss. They gave up their Saturday morning to come in bright and early to do some Picasso work for us!!
In June we had our last Young Consultants Committee meeting. This meeting has now been rebranded to YAG – Youth Advisory Group. On this occasion we had the opportunity to talk to staff members from the Office for Children, Youth and Family Support in regards to the new Young Peoples Plan for the ACT. The Young People attending the meeting were able to give some feedback in regards to what they felt should be included in the Plan. Following this we went out Bowling. Congrats to Dee and Chris and K. – who did extraordinarily well. But a dishonorable mention goes to Lisa – who missed all the pins in four turns. Is that the worst record ever? SRSLY!
